I wonder if Joseph Campbell had a crush on Wonder Woman like me?
Jungian psychologist Campbell was a one of my first influencers as a teenager, Wonder Woman was to become a later one.
Seeking God through my TV one teenaged Sunday morning, I stumbled onto an interview Campbell was having with journo Bill Moyers. Campbell weaved myth, metaphor and our human condition into a soulful tale of dragons, lions and destiny. He was a modern day storyteller, reminding us of our personal and collective power.
I was hooked.
I started writing about the Gods when I was eight years old - fascinated by the alchemical tales of love, power and betrayal. I wrote a collected books of Poem about Zeus and the children of Sun when I was ten. The ancient Gods and Goddesses came as alive on the page for me as they did in my beating heart. Mythology became my bridge between our humanity and our godliness.
Storytelling and heroines continue to represent function, power and nessecity for our myths, stories and heroes/heroines. They draw something out of us that has been latent like a snoozing dog. They inspire us.
Diana - aka Wonder Woman, aka Godslayer has a single mission to lay down the warmongering efforts of God of War Aries, in the timely female (cheers Patty Jenkins) directed film starring Gal Gadot.
It is time to take our fluffy jiffies and gloves off. We are the brave wielders of the lasso of truth. Firstly to ourselves in our comfortable convenient lives . The fear of being burnt at the stake again has been superseded out by our heartfelt outrage for TRUTH and JUSTICE collectively.
We can all see the UPRISING of the Feminine. Hallelujah.
It is our time to speak up and out - and you are the only one who can do it for yourself.Yes reach out for your sisters - women in the feminine thrive on communication, collaboration and community. So why don't we often speak up and out?
What are YOU most afraid of ? What are YOU not speaking out about?
What are we prepared to do to liberate our voice and hearts through action rather than passively air punching as we scroll politically correct posts with our latte.
